Who Won Comic-Con on IMDb?by IMDb-Editors | last updated - 9 months ago
IMDb unveiled its Top 10 Now app at Comic-Con, which showed how stars, TV shows, and movies were trending based on real-time IMDb traffic. Check out who made it all the way to the top during the 5-day event. The following is ranked in order of duration in the No. 1 spot.
Star Trek Beyond
Comic-Con played host to the world premiere of Star Trek Beyond on the eve of its U.S. theatrical release. The premiere sent the movie soaring to the top of IMDb Top 10 Now for three days and 11 hours. The movie's debut coincided with the 50th anniversary of the franchise, which was celebrated during a panel event that brought out luminaries like William Shatner. Check out IMDb's exclusive video with Shatner, where he talks about his friendship with Leonard Nimoy.
The "It Girl" of the summer, Robbie ruled Comic-Con, holding the top spot of trending stars for two hours and 22 minutes, far longer than her about-to-be-released movie, Suicide Squad. Of course, it helped that she's also starring in The Legend of Tarzan. Check out our photo gallery of Margot.
Star Trek Beyond not only dominated Comic-Con, but it also catapulted breakout star Boutella to the top of IMDb's trending charts. See where else you've seen her in our Focus on Sofia Boutella photo gallery.
When Marvel's Kevin Feige announced he was gathering his stars for a family photo, he paused to introduce his latest addition: Oscar-winner Brie Larson, who will be playing the title role in Captain Marvel. She went right to the front of the line of IMDb's Top 10 at Comic-Con, staying there for nearly 16 hours. Check out photos of Brie Larson through the years.
With so many heavy-hitters in one movie and a long-awaited premiere in two weeks, Suicide Squad trended before, during, and after Comic-Con. It held the No. 1 spot for titles only for 13 hours, however, taking a back seat to the Trekkies. Check out what was revealed at the Suicide Squad panel.
"Game of Thrones"
With a small kingdom of actors arriving for the panel and a showdown between Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and her ex Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), "Thrones" generated a lot of buzz and eyeballs. IMDb Yacht host Kevin Smith scored an exclusive interview with John Bradley and learned a thing or two about killing White Walkers.
She spoke the truth about her "Game of Thrones" character's true feelings about her brother, fan favorite Jon Snow. Her response helped Sophie Turner percolate to the top. See what Sansa Stark had to say at the "GoT" panel.
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice
Even though the movie had already been released, both Batman and Superman made splashy appearances at Comic-Con during the Warner Bros. Justice League panel, during which they also dropped a trailer of the movie. Discover how it all unfolded during the Warner Bros. panel reveals.
In addition to having the coolest fan experience at the Con (see our highlights round-up), "Mr. Robot" dropped a new episode on TV Wednesday night, which helped Elliott hack IMDb's Top 10 for a New York minute. Find out what Rami Malek and Christian Slater had to say about their series in our "Mr. Robot" panel reveals roundup.
