A photo is shown of a man having anal sex with an alien. This was a prank, and is shown for 2 seconds, as well it lacking in explicitness.

Most of the violence in this movie is EXTREMELY over the top and cheesy, due to excessive alien gore.

The crustacean-like aliens bleed red crimson blood just like humans do.

The aliens possess weapons capable of blowing people up; the weapons are used several times in the film. The aftermath of these deaths are bloody, but they are comically over the top.

We see an alien rip off a man's arm from a distance with lots of spurting blood. We see a close up of the severed arm with bloody tissue hanging from the stump being placed in a garbage bag.

Two small alien creatures fight. One drives it's spike tipped tail into the other with spurting blood.

A cluster of alien eggs is burned with a flamethrower. We hear the unborn babies shrieking as their eggs pop.

An alien attacks two men by hitting them with the butt of a rifle and flinging them through the air. One man receives a broken arm from the attack.

An alien is shot in the back with a rifle. He is then shot in the head at point blank range splattering blood on the camera and on the ground. A pool of blood forms around his twitching body.

A man's arm violently mutates with lots of secreted blood.

Around 100 uses of "fuck," 12 of "shit," 2 of "Jesus," 2 of "piss," 1 of "crap," 1 of "bitch," 3 of "bastard," 1 of "oh my God," 1 of "oh Jesus," 1 of "hell" and 1 of "oh God." 2 uses of the British word bloody.

Not as explicit as it would appear.

A man drinks alcohol.

Several scenes where helpless and defenseless aliens are killed.

A man's transformation into an alien may be highly disturbing to most people.

Various things happen to Wikus implying his transformation. It is somewhat disturbing.

Wikus is presumed dead, but eventually implied to be okay. The film's ending shows what is apt to be Wikus, fully transformed into a prawn.

The prawns alone are frightening, especially to young children.

14+ if they can handle the swearing, that's the worst part of the movie.

Rated R for bloody violence and pervasive language
